From Booklist
Taking place mere minutes after the cliff-hanger ending of Taking Eve (2013)—the first in prolific and best-selling Johansen’s new trilogy featuring forensic sculptor Eve Duncan—the second opens with Eve on the run from her diabolical captor, Jim Doane, in the wilds of the isolated Colorado Rockies. As wolves howl and frigid night temperatures descend, Eve’s struggle to survive pits her against nature’s deadliest elements while Doane constructs an elaborate trap to ensnare both Eve and Zander, a lethal assassin with a surprising interest in Eve’s welfare. Her plight has rallied a coterie of both old friends and new allies, who join Eve’s lover, Detective Joe Quinn, and their daughter, Jane, to marshal forces both supernatural and mortal to come to Eve’s rescue. Building to a shocking conclusion, Johansen’s paranormal suspense thriller will have fans of Eve’s exploits clamoring for the trilogy’s final installment, Silencing Eve (due out in October 2013), to learn of Eve’s ultimate fate. HIGH-DEMAND BACKSTORY: So avid are Johansen’s fans, a 300,000 print run is planned, backed by a national tour and an all-out, diversified advertising campaign on television, various websites, and social media. --Carol Haggas

Be aware of what you are buying
By linliv3
Hunting Eve could never be perceived as a well written stand alone novel or even a well written series novel. Be aware if you purchase this book you are buying one third of a complete story line. (and it is the middle third) After finishing Talking Eve most readers would wonder where the rest of the book was. After struggling through the first half of Hunting Eve (which covers only a few days time) I kept waiting for the story line to pick up the pace...It didn't. If you haven't read Taking Eve yet I think you will find Hunting Eve to be not only slow moving but also a bit confusing. I am incredibly disappointed in Iris Johansen for writing one novel and presenting it in the form of a trilogy of books. If the reader wants the resolution to the story they will have to purchase the third book which does not come out until October. All in all most readers will have paid over$30 for what could have been one outstanding novel instead of three mediocre books telling one story.

Hunting Eve

I did not realize that this was to continued into YET another book. The storyline is not deep enough or engrossing enough to support 2 books much less three books!! Wait for what might be THE END in book three. There is enough repetitous back story to cover the first two books with no need to read them. Greatly indignant to spend $30-$40 for what should be 1 book. Definitely not worth the investment in time or money.

Last Iris Johansen Book I'll ever read
By annoyed
This latest book is full of women with 'supposedly' strength of characters, having overcome much 'adversity' but spending much of the time whining about their current problems. Jane, a very unlikeable and self-destructive but in denial character was unable to resist the manipulative men in her life because she will 'sacrifice' herself to their manipulations for the 'greater good' (ie. Eve's rescue). Kendra, a promising likeable character in previous book, now succumbed to a controlling mother all in the name of 'love'. Eve's obsession with Bonnie is now as scary and unhealthy as Donne's obsession with Kevin.

It is ironic that perhaps the book's intention was to celebrate female characters instead all it did was to present unoriginal 'romantic' agsts (Jane, Mark and Caleb) and annoying, unoriginal good vs. evil rationalizations (Eve). If you like 50s and 60s sitcomes/movies then this book is for you; otherwise, please spend your hard-earned money on other 21st century based books.
