Kieler Fischtopf für zwei Personen

Du brauchst dafür:

2 bis 3 Möhren je nach Größe
1 Stück Sellerie
1 Stange Lauch
4 bis 5 Champignons je nach Größe
250 g Lachsfilet ohne Haut
1 Hand voll Shrimps
Brühe aus dem Glas
Curry
Petersilie

Möhren und Sellerie solltest Du schälen und raspeln, den Lauch von den Außenblättern befreien, halbieren und in dünne Streifen schneiden und natürlich alles abspülen.

Das Gemüse in Brühe (aus dem Glas) ca. 10 Minuten kochen.

Die in Würfel geschnittenen Champignons dazugeben, kurz mitkochen lassen, die in Würfel geschnittenen Fischteile und die Shrimps hinzufügen, dann aber nicht mehr kochen lassen.

Eventuell noch mit Wasser auffüllen, mit Brühe nachwürzen und dann den Curry hinzufügen, indem Du eine halbe Tasse Brühe aus dem Topf entnimmst und das Curry-Gewürz hineinrührst und wieder in die Suppe zurückgibst. So verteilt sich das Gewürz besser und bildet keine Klümpchen.
Ganz prima passt noch Petersilie hinein.

This book is volume 4 of 8 about famous people. This book was first published in 1894 and is in the public domain. The printed edition has 325 pages and many pictures in it. This Amazon verion has no pictures; it is possible to find an e-book version with the pictures on the web. The version with the pictures takes up a lot of the memory-space on your Kindle (2 MB), the versions without pictures need less than 500 KB. On average each life history is app. 10 pages in the printed version.

I enjoyed reading this book: it told me a bit more than I knew about some of the very famous people whose stories are told here, but it also told the stories of some people I knew nothing about. This book is an easy and nice read; it is interesting for people who are interested in history, or also for people who are not really interested in history but like to read short stories about real people.

Awful story, not worth reading

I recently read 2 good books by this author and decided to give this one a try despite the negative reviews. Imagine my horror when I discovered that I'd actually read it before and had obviously tried really hard to forget it. It must have been before I started doing reviews on Amazon just over a year ago. I now track what books I've read via my reviews of those books. I'm not going to do a summary because there are so many. I'll just say what I hated:

The H was a jack**s for most of the book. I couldn't forgive him for taking the h's innocence just before halfway into the book, without remorse or compassion. He leaves her without a backward glance. In short I hated him. She was a 17 year old innocent and he treated her like a doxy. She was under his protection in his house but only in so far as it suited him. He gets her pregnant, refuses to believe he is the father, accuses her of being a wh**e several times despite the fact that he knows he ruined her. He marries her only because he is forced to, all the while thinking that he doesn't have to and he doesn't touch her for a very long time after they are married. He has no honour and actually I shouldn't even be referring to him as an H, he doesn't deserve that accolade. The author couldn't redeem him because she let him be an arrogant bas**rd for too long into the book (more than 90%). The things he says and does to an innocent young girl are dreadful to read and impossible to forgive. At 92% he is on the verge of going to a brothel, how on earth are we to believe in an hea at this point? Rookie mistake on the author's part, I think. I know the h hero-worshipped him and I longed for her to turn her back on him but she was only 17 and in love and no different from every other woman that chased after him. Very disappointing.

Do yourself a favour and skip this book. The second You and Only You is much better and well worth reading without the pain of this awful book.

17 year old intelligent(?) girl in love with an abusive drunk

I wish I could say that I loved the book. Yes, it's somewhat reminiscent of the book Whitney, My Love written by Judith McNaught at the beginning, but unfortunately not even close to the original. h is suposed to be intelligent, but how can any inelligent beeing be so blindly infatueted by someone's looks, by mere appearance? No matter how attractive physically H might be, he stil is just a 29 year old coward, a drunk who hides from problems in a bottle of spirits. And he does it repeadetly in this book! He is just emotionaly constipated! It's so infuriating! I do not understand what the heroine sees in him? Except him being attractive, handsome, gorgeous etc.(all relating solely to his phisical appearance). Otherwise, he has no quality that would make him desirable by any selfrespecting woman. Whitney and Clayton had depth and were humans with virtues and flaws, but they were beliavable. I just can't see how can any woman find this H desirable. Or maybe that's just it: our h is not a woman, she is just an infatuated teenage girl ready to do whatever it takes (and I mean WHATEVER it takes!) to get her Idol. Sorry, but I found this book unbelieavable and irritating, with way too many misunderstandings and jumping to wrong conclusions. My advice: read "Whitney, my love" instead.

Ohh WOW!

Loved this book!

Ashleigh was raised to be the heir to her grandfather, and is pretty unconventional. She plays poker, and can cheat like a champ. She's great at chess. She rides her stallion in breaches and races for fun. She wants to learn how to fence, she's smart, funny, and completely beautiful. (She reminds me a lot of one of Judith McNaughts characters...can't remember the name! But I should add that this book packs the emotion of MCNaughts books too).

Nicholas is a Duke who doesn't want marriage, hes been burned and distrusts all women. But, He's a gentlemen who adores his grandma, and so doesn't refuse her anything...including allowing Ashleigh to remain a guest.

Our H/h meet when she's out riding and they're instantly attracted to each other, and he's sure she's just someone out to ensnare him into the marriage trap, he walks away wanting to find her and propose an illicit affair. Turns out he finds her sooner then he hopes...at dinner that night as his grandmas guest. He realizes she's off limits but to battle the attraction he starts to ignore her, she recognizes it for what it is, and is pretty forward in getting him to acknowledge there's something there. She recognizes herself as being in love with him from the beginning and they have a few stolen moments together where his kisses do nothing but reassure her that she's right, and so she keeps after him. Our hero though is very mistrustful, and there are some purely innocent moments that occur which serve to heighten his distrust. Eventually their relationship comes to a breaking point and in a jealous rage she shouts out that he isn't the only one she's had. At this point she's still innocent of all wrongdoing, and his mistrust blinds him to how great she is. Every time they get close again, something innocent happens to set him off, or he gets to comfortable with her and runs off before he allows himself to depend on her love.

The book has a lot of emotion, and I even tear'ed up at the end. You really felt him falling for her, it was totally packed with emotions...often suppressed, but they were there; honestly I think Ashleigh fell blindingly fast, but she held fast to her feelings throughout the book- I think once I just shut my mind off to the fact that this was a 17 year old girl and a 29 year old man, I became ok with her feelings being legit and really enjoyed the story!

Awesome book, and highly recommended. If you like McNaught you'll like this....

About the Author
Michael Hetherington (BHlthSci, L.Ac, Dip RM, Yoga Teacher) is an acupuncturist, massage therapist, yoga teacher and author from Brisbane, Australia. He has been practicing yoga since 2000 and began formal studies in Oriental and complementary medicine in 2004. Michael's mission is to emphasize the healing process and assist people to connect to a deeper and more raw sense of self. He has a keen interest in Buddhist (insight) meditation, mind-body medicine, energetic anatomy, medicinal herbs and yoga nidra. Michael was always attracted to eastern philosophy and it was this interest that drew him to the teachings and practices of yoga and Oriental medicine at a young age. After traveling to China to teach English for a year, he returned to Australia in 2004 to begin studying Chinese medicine, remedial massage and practicing Oki-Do yoga (Japanese yoga) more seriously. The title sums it up well -For health and enlightenmment

What is self-muscle testing and its benefits? As the author states, "being able to test more subtler levels of existence".

I am constantly stressed out and losing sleep. I know I need to take better care of myself both physically and mentally. I read this book with an open mind and tried the self muscle testing techniques (which are very well outlined and include pictures) and felt a little more in tune with myself for lack of a better explanation.

One would have to have an open mind to appreciate the this book and to benefit from the techniques introduced. Assuming this is the case, it is worth the read. I recommend reading through it twice for a better understanding.

This was a good overview of muscle testing... It had quite a bit of info on how to make sure you are in a mind frame where it will work, and how to choose the questions, which is very important. It was well organized, and helpful without getting too technical. I'm glad I read it.

This is an excellent book that everyone should read and follow. It tells you exactly how to test yourself to see what supplements, medicines and food are needed by your body. Learn this and you will no longer buy a lot of supplements your body doesn't need.

Great read!

This series has really surprised me. When I started the first book, only $0.99 at Amazon for the Kindle version, I didn't expect to get a book that I couldn't put down. The first book finished with a major cliffhanger so I bought this book immediately and couldn't put this down either. Once again, the author developed some great characters...ones that you liked and rooted for, as well as the villains. This series has already become one of my favorites and I can't wait for the next book coming out in April 2013.

I gave this author 5 Stars because he has melded perfect proportions of believable technology (In another life I was a aerospace. Engineer....w a heavy emphasis on space) and political intrigue. I could even see a parody of our current administration too... Can't wait for vol 3!!

OBTW, it could use another pass through by the editor. Minor details that didn't detract from the story line.

Many fans of this author and this series (this book is 2nd of 3) have been waiting eagerly for approx 1 month (delayed launch) for this book to come out, that is how good this authors writing is and the content of his books, this will be the 6th book I have read by this author having also read his Invasion USA series.

I agree with the previous comments, this author is into detail along with good character developement, there is action but at the appropriate times, if you are new to this author then as with any triolgy and 2nd book in the series make sure you read Book One first.

I am off to read the book!!

Note to author: the Books description or summary is the same as the one for Book One, I dont know how much control you have over this but I would assume that a slightly different one would assist towards book sales.

Having finished the book last night was I disappointed? Oh No!!

The book was great, the beginning of the book linked in well with the first book without resulting in simple repetition. The story flowed through the book making you wish we had a real Mr Richmond out there who could kick start the Space race, the tension built throughout the book towards the ending you knew was coming but couldnt wait to read.

Another great read from this author, thankfully he has according to his website brought forward the release of Book 3 from August to April

Required reading

I assigned this for a Women in American History class. Of course I enjoyed it, but it might be a little dated for a class of sophomores. Once they finished the assignment, the girls seemed to like the book and have a better understanding of the difficulties of prairie life for women.

This series gets better and better!

This second boxed set moves the series along nicely and we learn more about Jessica's mysterious husband and also more about Jessica.
Book 7 gives this new boxed set a good action start and we get to meet an old friend. Book 8 deals with Jessica's sister Gabby, but by the end of the book we learn more about Jessica and discover that she can more than hold her own. Book 9 is without doubt my favorite Taken story ever, as hit men are sent to kill Jessica and we learn a lot more about her and her husband's past. A great read this one. Book 10 is the shortest and doesn't really have much action, but we learn who Jessica's husband might be related to and there's also an appearance by Jake Caliber of The Caliber Detective Agency books and also an appearance by a minor character from book 5. Book 11 starts out quiet and then becomes a roller coaster ride, we also learn that the FBI has their eyes on the Whites. I absolutely loved the ending of this one. Book 12 shows what the FBI has in store for the Whites and we also meet a new character who I hope becomes a part of the series. Needless to say, I can't wait for more of these books. They are Brill!

The first six stories reminded me of Dexter, these six remind me of John and Carter from Person of interest. I love these books ad glad I found them. I still don't know his name,came close, but not sure. I was surprised that one of the stories starred the wife and that it was written in really well. Movie star looks and Wolfish eyes, and dangerous, a very beautiful wife, who could ask for more?? Not your typical serial killer by no means. You should definitely read Taken 1-6 first.

Loved the first six stories and these were just as good. With all the evil and injustice in the world, these stories make you feel good. It's nice to feel like the good guys prevail, at least once in a while.
