Go ahead, I dare ya... waste your money!

Oh. My. Lord. Where to begin? I gave up on the book after the political blatherings, and agenda driven points of view. I expected some type of research. Instead, one receives news articles... duh, we get it... Jerry Sandusky and Bernie Madoff were bad, but there is no insight into their background. "Dr." Weinhold offers opinion, and opinion only. There's nothing more than a Freshman's understanding of Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Sociopathic/Psychopathic behavior. There's merely opinion, and opinion, and more opinion. But when I got to the 9/11 Truther point of view, I gave up. Shame on you. 9/11 was actually a real thing. (Need I argue this?) It wasn't a grand conspiracy by government con-men. People actually died from, you know, planes hitting the towers. In fact, one was a good friend. Arguing that pulsed weapons and other nonsense was the cause diminishes anything else she writes.

And in the ultimate irony, when I finally... dear God, finally... got to the author's bio, I should have known.

Ph.D in "Planetary Psychology." Go ahead, Google it. Find any institution in the world that offers a degree in Planetary Psychology. Why it's like super advanced Astrology!!!

In a nutshell, a waste of Kindle pixels. I can only hope no trees died in the process for a print version. Welcome to the wacky crazy world of self publishing. Shame on me for falling into that rabbit hole.

Ugh. One star because Amazon mandates it. There is no way to give "negative" stars.

New Age Thinking and the Involvement with Sociopaths

For years I was involved with New Age thinking and adhered to the concept that you give love and you receive love. The old ways were gone and considered old fashioned and somewhat snobbish and petty. It wasn't right to pre-judge anyone. If you gave love, you got it back. Law of Attraction, so simple. We are here to love. NO CONTACT EVER was almost considered a sociopathic move in itself if you didn't stay in the game and give and give and give...............

What I got back was clinical depression and loss of money, not to mention a lot of rage, hatred and distrust from my association with a sociopathic man.

What I got from the book was examples that I could relate to and that it was OK to eliminate the sociopath from our lives because they are people who don't respond to love, are not grateful for your good deeds toward them and completely lack empathy and compassion and yes they are totally EVIL and we don't owe them anything because they will only destroy us. When we leave them, unlike us, they feel no pain and only move on to scam another person.

This book at it's series are just OK

I think that this book is just o-kay. Since it was written by a Ph.D, I think I was expecting more. It seems there was a lot of repeat information between the three books in the series, which is ok. Repetition works to ingrain this knowledge into one's brain. If you do not have much knowledge on con artists, sociopaths and predators, this book is a good starting point to learning. However, if you have been a victim of a con artist, sociopath and predator, you already know what the series is about and need to seek other books on healing from these types of evil personalities.

The greatness of the human soul seen through the eyes of St Thomas Aquinas

Vonier's magnum opus is "Key to the doctrine of the Eucharist". This book is also excellent albeit not quite in the same league. Vonier's explanation of the catholic faith is grounded in the thinking of St Thomas Aquinas, whose thought he makes crystal clear. This particular book makes one almost excited at the thought of crossing the great divide into eternity. I do not say this lightly, terminally ill as I am of cancer! He wonderfully explains the immense dignity of the spirit, which "by his very nature knows all things that are inferior to him, with the exception of the free acts of rational creatures; a spirit always acts to the full extent of his knowledge and his will-power (page 5). And yet he is careful to ground the activities of the soul in the body: "there is nothing in the intellect which has not been previously in the senses... our intellect deals immaterially or spiritually with bodily and material things... the human soul must be considered as the spirit that knows and loves the material, the physical universe experimentally" (page 18/19/31). And yet the body needs the animation of the spirit. But, what happens the soul when in death it becomes separated from the body? Well, "St Thomas constantly teaches that separation means the turning of the human intellect towards higher things, whilst in a state of union with the body it is turned towards lower things" (page 53). And, yet we can only find absolute fulfilment in the conjunction of the body and the spirit at the end of time. The book is full of these reflections - on heaven, on hell, on purgation, on reprobation, on angels, on the suffering of the damned, on the nature of the fire of hell and the fire of purgation, on why the angels fell. Incidentally, his explanation of the angelic fall is very good. His view is that being possessed of the fullness of natural perfection, the fallen angels were unwilling to accept the invitation of God to enter into his Divine life through grace and as gift. They were simply not willing to lower themselves to accept this gift. An interesting way of seeing things!
