This book is volume 6 of 8 about famous people. This book was first published in 1894 and is in the public domain. The printed edition has 319 pages and many pictures in it. This Amazon verion has no pictures; it is possible to find an e-book version with the pictures on the web. The version with the pictures takes up a lot of the memory-space on your Kindle (1,8 MB), the versions without pictures need less than 500 kB. On average each life history is app. 10 pages in the printed version.

I enjoyed reading this book: it told me a bit more than I knew about some of the very famous people whose stories are told here, but it also told the stories of some people I knew nothing about. This book is an easy and nice read; it is interesting for people who are interested in history, or also for people who are not really interested in history but like to read short stories about real people.

Why Am I So Happy?

This is a wonderfully inspirational book in which Wayne Rice shares his personal journey and battle with cancer. It's wonderful in that it will reach you and touch you whether you have been affected by cancer or not. We all have giants to face whether it be cancer, addiction, difficult family situations,financial struggles, etc... This book shows how courage, determination, and unwavering faith in God can enable and equip you to conquer any giant.Through reading Wayne's story from diagnosis through treatment, I felt empowered and compelled to embrace my true calling and to continue to walk it out, as my true purpose on earth is ultimately to glorify God and draw others to Him through what I do. I thank God for Wayne's showing us that with effort and determination it can really be done.

The content of the book was inspired and I actually purchased an additional copy for a family member. However Amazon botched the purchase by allowing me to download a proof of the book instead of the final version. Thankfully, after I contacted the author he replaced the download with a hard copy. Like other books from Dan Brown, the detail on the places and iconic places makes this book a great way to learn about Dante's Divine Comedy master work. When you read this book you travel all the way to Firenze, Venice and Istanbul. My only wish for is to end the book with the same energy and excitement from the beginning. Feels like Dan Brown finished the book without the same detail from the start.

The Best Audio Tape Ever!

This audio tape recorded by Ruby Dee of Zora Neale Hurston's Mules and Men absolutely makes the case for audio-books because of Dee's extraordinary performance. I seriously doubt that Hurston could do better herself. It is so great that this is the third time I am buying it. The first two copies are owned by my Mom (artist Faith Ringgold) who is bi-coastal and keeps a copy loaded in the tape player ready to play, day or night, on each coast, and the third is for me because now from listening to my Mom's tapes I am as addicted to it as she is. This is becoming true of a lot of her friends. Whether you are doing something else or just listening, it fits in perfectly, and it is full of wisdom and laughs. It is absolutely the best, and I would buy anything else that Ruby Dee ever had anything to do with because she is the glue that makes it work.

A Succint Summary of the Facts

This book is great for revision and listing just enough detail you need to pass a sports medicine exam. The book summarises the latest findings and gives relevant points in bullet form. It is ideal for quick revision rather than a lot of comprehensive information on clinical issues.There are no illustrations.

Seems to be missing info.....

Book appears ok for review but studying for the CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine seems to be missing information that I had seen on practice tests. I guess it would be hard to include all information for review but was hoping for more comprehensive review.

Wasn't overly impressed.
Just a straight forward question with answer straight after.
Used it to help study for my sports medicine re-certification test.
I guess it helped but results won't be ready for a while.
I liked the most recent AMSSM Question Book (just released in 4-2015) more.
